Cat weight and eating habits
The weight of a cat is a considerably good factor to determine its health. A sudden loss or gain of weight in a cat is a sign of deteriorating health. It's a good habit to weigh your cat once a week and note its weight so you can monitor it. The easiest and most effective way to get your cat's weight is to weigh yourself on a weighing scale first, and then carry your cat and weigh again. Subtract the difference between the two and you'll get an accurate weight of your cat. A difference of more than 1 pound could mean deterioration of health in a cat.

Also, look out for the leftovers in the cat's eating bowl. If the amount of leftovers is more than usual and happens frequently, there might be something wrong with your cat. Read up our article on Cat Feeding.

Cat hygiene
A cat in a state of good hygiene is a healthy cat. Keep your cat clean and make sure he has baths and teeth brushed whenever needed. Read up our article Cleaning your Cat to learn more about maintaining your cat's hygiene.

Cat whiskers
There are certain parts of the cat body that are sensitive and needs special care in order to maintain good health. For instance,  whiskers should never be cut or trimmed because it is essential in a cat's life. Whiskers helps a cat to feel his way around and navigate. It's also a mood indicator. The main use of the whiskers is to judge whether the cat can fit through an opening.

Cat Nails
Another essential aspect of a cat's health is trimming its' nails. It's not just a part of grooming. If nails aren't trimmed, they break and bleed easily because of the vein that runs in their nails and this could even cause death. The best way to trim your cat's nails is to do so in small amounts on a regular basis. But you must be careful to not trim too far behind and injure the vein (the pink part in the nail). Well, you could just take him to the vet.
